Staff, Students, and Parents/Guardians:
When inclement weather arises, the Superintendent and the administrative team will assess weather and road conditions prior to 5:00 a.m.
If a delay or closure is deemed necessary, notifications will be sent to all staff and student households through the Apptegy/Thrillshare Alert System. Updates will also be posted on the district website (http://www.newportwildcats.org) and shared with local television stations to ensure broad communication.
This procedure also applies to other emergency situations—such as power outages, water or heating issues, fires, floods, or similar events—where the district determines that adjustments to the school day are necessary to ensure the safety of students and staff.
