Two Newport Independent Schools bus drivers received state awards from the Kentucky Association for Pupil Transportation (KAPT). Our drivers were chosen by KAPT, which represents over 8,600 school bus drivers across the state. Dawn Cropenbaker (Bus #6) was named the 2024-25 School Bus Driver of the Year and Jennifer Prejean (Bus #8) was awarded the 2024-2025 Special Needs School Bus Driver of the Year. Dawn and Jennifer have both been with the district since 2023. They were presented their awards on behalf of KAPT by Dusty Galloway, Transportation Supervisor for Newport Ind. Schools, at the state conference in Bowling Green, KY on June 17. Congratulations to two of the best in the business!
