For a variety of factors, some parents may choose to homeschool their child as a private school student. This choice places the educational responsibility upon the family including selection of curriculum and educational materials, maintenance of daily attendance, recording of grades, filing of student work samples, and yearly notification to the school district in which the child resides.
Newport School of Innovation Trailblazer Program
Trailblazer accepts 6th through 12th grade students whose parents would like to homeschool with educational guidance, support, and extracurricular opportunities . No state testing is administered, but MAP testing is encouraged to show progress. The cost of Trailblazer is $60 per 1/2 credit course.
