Cincinnati-Based Rock Band Features Newport High School and Drama Program Students to Produce Anti-Bullying Music Video Victor Spoils and NHS students

NEWPORT, Ky. – Victor Spoils, a Cincinnati-based rock band, has filmed its latest music video with an anti-bullying theme in collaboration with Newport High School (NHS) and its drama program.

Newport High School drama students performed in the video and created props that were used throughout the song. Newport Students also creatively worked with the video’s director and learned the many facets of filming and creating a music video.

Band members Aaron Ellis, Doug Lee, and Josh Neugebauer said the video will accompany their new single, “Bully,” which has messages of positivity, kindness, and being oneself. The students help demonstrate these messages through various scenes in the video.

NIS LAUNCHES ONLINE "SCHOOL OF INNOVATION"

                   Newport School of Innovation

NEWPORT - Recognizing that all students are not suited for a traditional classroom setting, Newport Independent Schools has launched an online learning program that is taking an innovative approach to engaging and serving an underserved student population. Classes will begin this Fall and there is an application process to be accepted into this program.

The Newport School of Innovation will serve students who want to take additional classes beyond what is typically being offered at our high school or when they are not traditionally offered as this can be a 24/7 schooling opportunity. Some students may want to take higher level courses while some may want to graduate in three rather than 4 years. The school of innovation may be of interest to students who are homeschooled or just do not fit into a traditional setting or have family/personal issues that prevent their regular attendance in a classroom during normal school hours.
