Aaron Sutherland grew up in Carrollton, Kentucky. Many of Aaron’s family members owned tobacco farms and he spent much of his time as a child working on and around tobacco fields and spending time outside. Aaron’s mother is a librarian and when he was not outside working and playing, he was reading books he checked out from the public library. Aaron attended Carroll County schools and graduated from Carroll County High School in 2005. Aaron attended Western Kentucky University, where he double majored in History and Political Science. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from WKU in 2009. Aaron followed his dream to become a lawyer and attended Northern Kentucky University Chase College of Law from 2010-2013. Aaron is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. After law school, Aaron worked as an Investigator and Auditor with the United States Department of Labor Employee Benefits Security Administration. Aaron later transitioned into a career as an Attorney with the United States Social Security Administration. He has also maintained a private law practice since 2014. Aaron moved to Newport in 2015 and was elected as a Board Member for the Newport Board of Education in 2020. Aaron lives in the East Row with his partner Nicole and their two dogs, Stella and Uma.
