NIS Garden Club Grows With Help From 4-H and Subaru

Garden Club shows their appreciation.

This past spring, the Garden Club was started at Newport Intermediate School.  Students started off by growing different plants in a grow lab which was donated to us from Campbell County 4-H Youth Development and Horticulture Education programs.  Mr. Own Prim and Sarah Stolz conducted a lesson on how to grow plants in the lab.  The plants were later distributed to students throughout the school.

The Garden Club also received a Free Garden from Subaru Loves the Earth Program.  Subaru donated tools, bird houses and feeders, watering cans, and food for the garden habitat.  The club members will break ground with the new garden starting in September.  We would like to thank Subaru for its generous donations to help build a garden habitat!
