FROM THE SCHOOL BASED HEALTH CLINIC DESK . . .

healthCommunities throughout America have a commitment to education along with their local schools.  The Newport community and the Newport School District share that bond of commitment as well.  However, the current Covid-19 pandemic presents us with some difficult challenges.  Maintaining safety and wellness is an equally high priority.  As part of our ongoing commitment to the community, the Newport School Based Health Clinic will remain open to assist families by providing free healthcare for Newport students.  Some of our many services include sick child visits, physical exams, and immunizations.  The Health Clinic is located at the Newport Intermediate School and is open every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8am-3pm.  Please call 291-1910 to schedule a visit; masks and social distancing protocols are in place.

We want to offer not only our gratitude, but also kudos, to the parents and guardians of our Newport School students.  The Newport school nurses, and administration have assumed a limited role in assisting with contact tracing and notifications, augmenting the efforts of the Northern Kentucky Health Department.  We have found our parents and guardians to be essential.  Our school community parents, and guardians have been receptive and helpful participants in these efforts toward public health.  Your continued notifications concerning ill students and thoughtful discussions with us will be appreciated as well.
