Newport Schools awarded over $1.9 million in grant funding

Newport Independent Schools has received more than $1,900,000 in grant awards since the 2015-2016 school year started.

Grants include: eight Learning Links grants from the Greater Cincinnati Foundation; Kentucky Dept. of Education School Improvement Grant; VSA KY Art Inclusion Grant; KDE 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant; KDE Project Lead the Way Grant; KDE Food Services Equipment Grant; and just this week, our district was awarded a Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection Crumb Rubber Grant and continued funding from the Cincinnati Free Store Food Bank for our district's School Food Pantry Program.

Grant funding will support significant changes in school education practices, arts activities, after-school programming, a biomedical career pathway from grades K to 12, improved food services equipment, landscaping and provision of food to Newport students and their families in need.

We look forward to the new school year with the added funding for new and existing programs and trust our students and their families will experience great benefit!
