Home/hospital instruction provides educational services to students who cannot attend school for extended periods due to temporary or recurring conditions, including fractures, surgical recuperation, or other physical, health, or mental conditions. An “extended period” refers to an absence for more than five (5) consecutive school days.
Students found eligible for home/hospital instruction will receive two instructional sessions per week, with a minimum of one hour of instruction per session, by a certified teacher. A parent/guardian or a responsible adult must be present in the home/hospital room during the time the teacher is present.
COVID -19 IMPACT Home/Hospital instruction may occur virtually for the safety and well being of the student and certified staff member as determined by the eligibility committee.
