Pamela Bevan, Teacher
Pam has been teaching in the early childhood setting for 19 years. She graduated from Northern Kentucky University, where she received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees, as well as Rank 1, all in Elementary Education.
Pam has taught Kindergarten for many of those years and is now teaching preschool. She loves working with the preschoolers and witnessing their curiosity for the world around them. She enjoys providing them with opportunities to build their confidence as early learners!
Heather Brumback, Instructional Assistant
Heather has been working with preschool age children for over 14 years. She enjoys building relationships with her preschoolers by helping them feel safe and confident in their school environment. Her biggest reward for working with preschoolers is receiving smiles and hugs from her students, both past and present.
Pamela Kaising, Speech Language Pathologist
"I love working with preschoolers and love their innocence and eagerness to explore and learn each day." Pam is a graduate of Miami University and Ohio State University and has been a speech language pathologist for 21 years. Pam and her husband enjoy watching their daughter play volleyball and their son swim and play soccer. They also enjoy time at the Cincinnati Nature Center and at the beach.
Nancy Knauf, Kindermusik Instructor
Nancy studied piano, voice and dance, played the flute, sang in select choirs and performed in musicals throughout her school years. When observing music education programs, Nancy discovered Kindermusik and fell in love with the creative curriculum and the opprotunity to teach music to develop the skills, talents and interests of young children. She is a 2010 Vocal Music graduate of Northern Kentucky University and is a licensed Kindermusik Instructor.
Children do say the funniest things. They are learning so many new words and concepts in their early years. Talking with your child is extremely important for their later success in school. Children from poor households hear 30 million fewer words than children in households of professional families (Hart and Risley 1995). This is important because early vocabulary development has a direct impact on reading skills and success in school.
We can eliminate this “word gap” by simply increasing the amount of words we use with our children and how we use those words. It is never too early to talk to your baby. A baby is hearing words while still in the womb. A newborn can recognize his or her parents voices When you talk with your infant you are getting their brains ready for when they do speak those first words. You can help your child get ready for school by extending and expanding their vocabulary.
Here are some ideas for increasing your child’s vocabulary(www.superduperinc.com).
● Morning time/getting ready– Child says, “Brush teeth.” Adult expands and says, “You are brushing your teeth.” Adult extends and says, “You are brushing your teeth with your blue toothbrush.”
● Dinnertime– Child says, “More cookies.” Adult expands and says, “Do you want more cookies?” Adult extends and says, “We have chocolate-chip cookies.”
● Playing outside– Child says, “Fall down.” Adult expands and says, “You did fall down.” Adult extends and says, “You did fall down. You fell down in the sand.”
● Grocery Store– As the child talks about items in the grocery store, he/she says, “Juice.” The adult expands the utterance and says, “Yes, that is juice.” The adult extends the utterance and says, “Yes, that is juice. It is apple juice.”

Children thrive on music. It’s one of the best vehicles for learning in early childhood development. Kindermusik takes musical learning to the next level; our curriculum is proven to improve a child’s brain development.
The ABC Music & Me program with certified instructors and curriculum uses music, stories and movement to prepare children
for educational opportunity. Certified ABC Music & Me instructor, Nancy Knauf, along with Newport (KY) Schools approached the foundation for funding. After a successful pilot program, the music curriculum was implemented in the Newport Primary School preschool classes for the 2014-15 school year. Embraced by Newport Primary's preschool teachers, students visit Knauf's classroom for activities centered around music and literacy that will better prepare them for kindergarten. Veteran teacher Kate Neikirk, who joins her classes in Knauf's classroom, sees the benefits of this program as the students further develop skills that will assist their success at the next level. This past year was filled with contributions that directly helped organizations and individuals within the Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati area. The Clyde N. Day Foundation continues to support organizations, initiatives and individuals like the Newport Primary School as they pursue excellence.
All over the world, parents bond with their babies through musical sounds and rhythmic movement. They rock and swing their children, put them sleep with lullabies, make them laugh with nursery rhymes. Parents know instinctively what scientists have now proven: young children thrive on music. It's one of the best vehicles for learning in early childhood development. Kindermusik takes musical learning to the next level; our curriculum is proven to improve child brain development. And it's fun for parents too!

Kindermusik is committed to strengthening the research foundation that has set our curriculum apart by staying abreast of research from other leading early childhood development experts and continually evaluating our program’s impact. The findings indicate that students in classes using ABC Music & Me program made significantly greater gains in language and literacy skills as compared to student in classes that did not use any of the ABC Music and Me program components.
