Parents, Guardians and Newport Community,

I am honored to serve as the principal at Newport Primary School.  I am a graduate of Newport Independent Schools and love this community.  Having worked a total of 14 years in the Newport District, I am now entering my third full year as principal.  I am proud of the improvements we have made in the areas of safety, culture, facilities, and academic progress.

Our mission at Newport Primary is to Nurture, Prepare, and Support our students.  At the forefront of our mission, is to provide our students with excellent instruction to ensure they are proficient in reading and math before they enter the third grade.  We are focused on providing strong core instruction and ensuring we meet the needs of all students with differentiated instruction.

We consider it a privilege to work with your kids every day to help them be their very best selves. We set high expectations of our students, and we have high expectations of teachers and staff to help all NPS students learn and grow into well-rounded citizens.  Our goal is that all students know and follow the Wildcat Way, a set of essential soft skills that all students need to follow to be successful.  Each month, a new rule of the Wildcat Way is revealed, and teachers present lessons on this rule.  In addition, every teacher and student at NPS is a member of a House in our House System.  The goal of our House System is to ensure every person has a connection and a ‘family’ within our school.

We continue to make great improvements at Newport Primary. Please continue to visit our website for updates throughout the year, including our Facebook Page (Newport Primary School) where we post updates and pictures from events.  And, of course, please reach out to me with any questions or concerns that you may have, as we invite you to be our partners in your child’s education.  I assure you that I will always put our students first with every decision made.
