Meet the Principal

Where:  Newport Primary School Library (1st Floor)

Date:  October 19, 2016

Time:  Visit anytime between 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Who:  Parents/Guardians/Family of Newport Primary students.  Students are welcome, too!

Additional Info:  This will be an open house, informal style gathering where you can stop in to say hello, get to know one another, and have a light snack and refreshment.

Red Ribbon Week

Help Newport Primary School Celebrate Red Ribbon Week!
October 24-28

We are celebrating Red Ribbon week because it is a way for students to unite and take a stand against substance abuse.  Students show their personal commitment to drug-free lifestyle through the symbol of a red ribbon.

Monday, 10/24 – “Rally in Red” – Staff and students will wear red from head to toe to kick off red ribbon week

Tuesday, 10/25 – “follow your dreams” – Staff and students are encouraged to wear their pajamas

Wednesday, 10/26 – “team up against drugs” – Staff and students are encouraged to wear a t-shirt or sweatshirt of their favorite team or player

Thursday, 10/27 – “I’m too bright for drugs” – Staff and students are encouraged to wear bright, colorful clothes

Friday, 10/28 – “Don’t get mixed up in drugs.”  Staff and students are encouraged to wear mismatched clothes

Red Ribbon Week Activities

Red Ribbon Week Poster Contest
-Be drug free by creating a poster for the contest
-must have a drug free message
-minimum of 8 x 12 paper
-turn into Mrs. Alexander by Oct 26th
-Winners get prizes

National Drug Free Pledge
Visit to sign the national drug free pledge

Red Ribbon Photo Contest
Enter the red ribbon photo contest at to win a free i-pad for your family and $1000 for NPS!

Newport Primary School Trunk or Treat

Thursday, October 27th

4:30 PM - 6:00 PM

NPS families may pick  up their free tickets following the Title I parent meeting at 4:15 PM  in the gym.
