access testing

ACCESS for ELLs testing will occur in January and February for our English Language Learners (ELLs) at all Newport Independent Schools.  Students will be tested in their ability to speak, listen, read, and write in English.  If your student is an English Language Learner, please make sure he or she comes to school and is well rested!  We will send test results home in April.

Thank you!

Car Line

· safetyPlease encourage your child to be ready to exit the car - seat belt off, backpack together, coat/gloves on.  This will keep the line moving.

· Students are only permitted to exit the car when in the car line.  For safety concerns, students should not exit the vehicle in the driving lane.

· If the driver or adult in the car needs to get out to help the student or do things (e.g talk, hair, sign slips) please pull past the car line closer to the corner.

· There is no parking anywhere in the car line.  Preschoolers are dropped off by the office doors so this area needs to be clear.

Lost and Found

lost and foundWith the cold comes many forgotten and misplaced winter clothing.  All lost and found items are hung up in the cafeteria for the day in hopes students will claim their items.  Unclaimed items are moved into the stairwell near the office.  It is helpful if your child's name is written on all items so they can be returned when found.
