Kids Helping Kids

NIS students and staff assist in delivering toys and presents to the Family Resource Center. Items were donated by a non-profit organization called Faces without Places. This organization provides educational services to children experiencing homelessness. NIS is "Raising the Bar" on service learning!

Your child can wear their favorite Holiday Sweater for only $1! The proceeds will benefit families within our Newport community that need assistance for the Holidays.

Dental Screening, Cleaning, Sealants and Fluoride

All Northern Kentucky Independent District Health Department permission slips MUST be completed and turned into the school office by Friday, December 12, 2014. This is a great opportunity for all 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students. The dental services will be offered at the Newport Intermediate School on January 29, 2015. Only those students with completed permission slips will be eligible for the dental screening, cleaning, sealants and fluoride

SBDM Meeting Changed

The SBDM meeting originally scheduled for December 17th has been cancelled. There will be a special called meeting on December 10th instead, starting at 3:30 in room 305.

Welcome Center Renovated

The renovations of the district enrollment office  are complete and opened for business. The Enrollment Department is located in the Welcome Center at 30 West 8th Street.  Please call 292-3080 for more information.

More Award Winners.... Talia receiving her awards

Jadyn Cruz and Talia Stockton were winners of the Northern Kentucky Fire Marshall's poster contest. Jadyn and Talia were both recognized for their posters and received $30 in prizes! Good job girls!!

Congratulations Maria!

Maria Perez was the winner of a contest held by Judge Woeste. The contest was called 'Family Court Contest'. The participants had to draw a picture of a Kentucky state animal. Maria's drawing was chosen and will now hang in Judge Woeste's court room for two years. Good job Maria!!
