Final Dates for Summer Feeding Program Sun with sunglasses

Summer break is nearing the end, and so are the days for our Summer Feeding Program.  Click here or on the Sun to see the last days for students to enjoy their free lunch at Newport Intermediate School.

NEWPORT INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NAMES PRINCIPALS OF HIGH SCHOOL, INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL TowerNIS

Heather Orman, who has more than 20 years of classroom and administrative experience, is the new principal of Newport High School. Orman was most recently an assistant principal at Seneca High School in Jefferson County Public Schools in Louisville. She has taught English/Language Arts and math in the Jefferson, Oldham and Harrison County school districts, in addition to coaching basketball.

National Night Out National Night Out

 National Night Out will be held in the Target parket lot of the Newport Pavilion on Tuesday, August 7th from 6-9 PM. 

Join us for complimentary food and beverages, school supplies (while supplies last), bike giveaways, meet and greets with your Newport police and firefighters, a S.W.A.T. demonstration, and more!

Zac Newman's Ramp Up Stunt Show will be performing along with music featuring the return of the band 4th and York and a special appearance by Saving Escape.

Once again, Newport National Night Out will be held in the Target parking lot at Newport Pavilion on Tuesday August 7, 2018 from 6-9 PM.

Dear Newport Families and Staff:
Following the recent tragedy at Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida, I want to reiterate the importance of safety in Newport Independent Schools. As a father of two children who attended public schools, the safety and security of all of our students, staff, and schools are my top priority.

I share and value your concerns, and I want you to know I am committed to doing everything possible to ensure that Newport Independent Schools are a model for school safety.
