The Clerk’s Office of United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, through Adopt A Class, partnered with Mrs. Naomie Dean’s second-grade class this year. Once a month we visit the classroom for one hour to share our experiences and learn from each other. In January, we learned about different types of bridges, built bridges, and tested them to see how much weight they could sustain before they collapsed. Fun was had by all! Over the next three months, we will learn about each branch of the federal government. First, we will learn about the Executive Branch, how to become President, and what the President’s powers are. Next, we will learn about the Legislative Branch and write and (maybe) pass a bill! Finally, we will find out what the Judicial Branch does and get fitted for a judge’s robe.
